The [Essential] Insert is made to fit inside your Traveler’s Notebook and keep your daily carry items organized.

Designed in collaboration with Baum-Kuchen, it is made from 2–3 oz premium vegetable-tanned leather that will last, age well, and develop character with use.

The [Essential] can be used inside your Traveler’s Notebook or on its own as a slim wallet, card case, notebook organizer, or pencil holder for your bag.

Materials & Construction

The [Essential] Insert combines card storage with a zippered pocket, giving you a simple way to carry cards, cash, notes, receipts, pens, loose change, and small paper goods.

The Regular Size version has 3 card slots on the left side, a large open pocket for cash, a checkbook, receipts, or notes, and a zippered pocket on the right side. The zippered pocket can hold pens, a passport, loose change, and other small essentials.

The Passport Size version has 2 card slots on the left side and a zippered pocket on the right side. It is a compact option for cards, cash, notes, receipts, and loose change.

Each insert is made from premium Himeji leather, a Japanese vegetable-tanned leather that will age and develop character with use. Every piece is made in Tokyo, Japan, at the 1.61 workshop from start to finish.
