At 1.61 Soft Goods, we create understated, purpose-driven tools for the modern standard. Our design philosophy is rooted in the golden ratio (1.61), a timeless symbol of beauty and proportion. Our journey began in two different countries, shaped by a shared admiration for our grandparents’ heirloom tools, objects that carried both beauty and utility through time. This appreciation naturally led to our studio’s founding: a pursuit of products where design never compromises function.

We started in Los Angeles, where our craft took shape over five exciting years. In 2017, we moved to Tokyo, Japan, beginning a new chapter while staying true to our ethos.

Today, 1.61 Soft Goods continues to grow, crafting leather goods and everyday essentials designed to last a lifetime. Every piece is made with carefully selected materials that gain character with age, becoming a personal artifact of your journey.
